Pittsburgh's Best Outdoor Vibe

There’s nothing like spending a beautiful evening outside in the open air with family or friends.  Whether it’s for dinner or just drinks, socializing always seems better with a slight breeze under a clear sky.  Not all outdoor spaces are created equal though.  It takes the right combination of lighting, ambiance, and clientele to justify leaving the backyard and grill for $10 drinks.  In no particular order, here are some nice options that each bring something a little different.

Personal Thoughts:  The dancing fountain with city skyline in the background make for a really unique and relaxing atmosphere.

Personal Thoughts:  A fun space with oversized Jenga and Check-Four games.  The space is tight so occupancy is strictly limited.

Personal Thoughts:  A really nice and secluded waterfront deck.  The food has mixed reviews, but definitely a great place to relax with a beer.

Personal Thoughts:  A great location at the entrance of the awesome Schenley Park.  You have views of the park, Carnegie Museums, and Cathedral of Learning.

Personal Thoughts:  Located within Sandcastle Waterpark.  It's a great place to sip drinks and lounge in a pool during a hot summer day.  Park admission is required.

Personal Thoughts:  A really cool place to eat.  They did a great job building a garden oasis in the city.  The food is very good as well.

Personal Thoughts:  People often confuse this place with Pusadee's Garden.  They're both amazing garden feels with really good food.  You'll have to try both and pick a favorite.

Personal Thoughts: With sofas, cabanas, and trees, it's one of the coziest rooftop decks around.  The restaurant below is really good, but they do not serve food on the roof.

Personal Thoughts:  They specialize in crepes, and they are delicious.  You should be aware that they do close at 3pm each day.

Personal Thoughts: A really relaxing afternoon spot tucked away at the Henry Clay Frick mansion.  You'll also really enjoy the art and car museums onsite.
