Pittsburgh Crime...
Like all major cities, Pittsburgh has its collection of good and bad neighborhoods and people. As an outsider, it's hard to draw useful conclusions about where to live in a new city without the benefit of spending significant time there, driving through its various areas and interacting with its residents. One crime metric that can be used is a city's homicide report. It can be universally considered safest to avoid locations where a city experiences its highest number of violent crimes. The graph below was extracted from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette homicide report. The concentrated homicide areas clearly show Pittsburgh's most unsafe neighborhoods. Trulia.com also offers a nice crime map, although it does not discriminate between violent and non-violent crime.
