Pittsburgh is a city known for its rich history, cultural diversity, and unique events. This year, there are plenty of exciting events happening throughout the city that you won't want to miss. Here are ten unique Pittsburgh events that are sure to be a hit with locals and visitors alike.
  1. Picklesburgh - As the #1 ranked food festival in America, if you're a fan of pickles, this event is for you. Picklesburgh is a two-day festival held in July that celebrates all things pickled. From pickle-flavored ice cream to pickle juice cocktails, there's something for every pickle lover at this event.  
  2. Three Rivers Arts Festival - This ten-day festival held in June showcases the work of over 300 artists from around the country. There are also food vendors, live music, and other entertainment options available.  
  3. Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix - This event, held in July, is a car lover's dream come true. Vintage cars from around the world gather in Schenley Park for a weekend of racing and fun.  
  4. Steel City Con - This bi-annual convention is a must-attend event for comic book and pop culture fans. Held in April and August, Steel City Con features celebrity guests, comic book artists, and vendors selling all kinds of memorabilia.  
  5. St. Patrick's Day Parade - Pittsburgh's St. Patrick's Day Parade is one of the largest in the country, and it's a great way to celebrate Irish culture and heritage. The parade is held in March and features marching bands, floats, and plenty of green.  
  6. Kennywood's Phantom Fright Nights - If you're a fan of Halloween and haunted houses, you won't want to miss Kennywood's Phantom Fright Nights. Held on select nights in October, this event features haunted mazes, scare zones, and other spooky attractions.  
  7. Pittsburgh Restaurant Week - Foodies won't want to miss Pittsburgh Restaurant Week, held in January and August. Participating restaurants offer special prix-fixe menus and other promotions, making it a great time to try out new places to eat.
  8. Pittsburgh Beer Fest - This event, held in November, is a celebration of all things beer. Sample beers from local and national breweries, enjoy live music, and participate in other beer-related activities.
  9. OpenStreetsPGH - On select Sundays throughout the summer, certain streets in Pittsburgh are closed to cars and open to pedestrians, bikers, and other non-motorized vehicles. It's a great way to explore the city without worrying about traffic.
  10. Light Up Night - This annual event, held in November, marks the beginning of the holiday season in Pittsburgh. Festivities include a tree lighting ceremony, live music, fireworks, and other holiday-themed activities.
